Food Bank

First Congregational church of Lyme collaborates with the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries  in providing food for the food banks in our local community. There is a tub to collect donations in the foyer for when the building is open.  If we are closed, donations can be left in the plastic tub left on the porch of our church office.  We encourage you to put an extra can, box or bag in your basket when you go to the grocery store.  Specific monthly collections are:

January: rice and beans

February: breakfast foods (cereals, cereal bars, pancake mix, oatmeal, etc.)

March: canned fruits and vegetables. 

April: pasta and sauces 

May: baby food, applesauce, 

June: peanut butter, jelly

July: rice and beans

August: breakfast foods

September: canned fruits and vegetables

October: pasta and sauces 

November: Thanksgiving dinner foods (cranberries, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc.)

December: peanut butter and jelly
